Unique Bookplates

Do you love to read? How many times have you opened a book and looked inside the front cover for some sort of book identification?

A bookplate is also known as "ex libris" meaning "from book" per the Latin derivation. many years ago, a bookplate used to take the form of a wax seal on the 1300's. Later the ex libris took a paper format and today comes in numerous forms creating a multitude of unique bookplates.

Some are paper that are glued on and some are label bound with a pressure sensitive advehsive on the back. Of course bookplate labels can come in varying sizes too.

Here is an interesting use of a unique bookplate. Try making a bookplate for a construction company's groundbreaking ceremony. More than just a ceremony, this construction company used this unique bookplate on construction documents, construction manuals, even job costing books.

One of the fun things to do with book labels is to make them for your kids textbooks or paperbacks. Use some fun colorful images and make some cute book labels for childrens books.
